"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

This morning what woke me up wasn't the alarm on my phone, it was the notifications about the shooting that occurred in France. I feel deeply saddened by the events that took place in Paris. I am a deep deliver in respecting others to gain respect, and although I understand the the comic drawings may not have been respectful to certain groups of people, religious beliefs, etc we have to remember that the freedom of speech, press, and of expression is a right, these are freedoms that were earned and fought for by generations before ours. One may not always accept or agree with what others do, or think but violence is never the answer, there's a better way to get a message out there that does not involve hurting others.

When your creative expressions, and freedoms are targeted and you no longer feel safe to do what you feel is right, what do we have left as individuals? Nobody should feel threatened to express themselves on paper, on canvas, or out loud. My deepest condolences go out to the families of the ones who lost their lives this morning.
