LACE IT OVER
The summer heat really gets to me once it hits 80 degrees along with high digits of humidity. Living in Minnesota consists of what people like to call "frigid" winters for over half of the year, so imagine a penguin from the North Pole being thrown into South America and that's how I feel in the summertime. While I deal with that, let me share that I do love wearing less in the summertime while using the layers that I already own in a strategic manner.
The outfit includes a very light cardigan, a sheer tank and a pair of cropped Levi's which look to be of regular length on me. The jeans have stretch in them so they do have more breathability and range of motion. Keep that in mind when looking for summer denim. Let's say you wear a 501 from Levi's which is 100% cotton...I'll be the first to tell you that they will have you sweating in the wrong areas. My favorite part of this outfit is the combination of a lace bralette with a sheer top.
By purposely wearing a sheer top that compliments and creates contrast with my outfit, I am able to wear a bralette the way you're supposed to– showing it off. They're intricately made and come in all shapes and designs. More often than not, I think that hiding them under our clothes really doesn't do the bralette any justice. Sure it may look a bit cheeky, but heck I'm young and girls just want to have fun. You can easily achieve a chic, and sexy outfit without making your lingerie look trashy and that's by picking what you pair them with wisely. We're currently among the trend of slip dresses, and sheer everything so take advantage of that and combine them with bralettes like this one for a more intricate and layered ensemble. You can be sexy, edgy, chic, and rad all at the same time.
